Job summary

Vista Medical Center East & Lindenhurst Free-Standing Emergency Center in Waukegan seeks a Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) for its Emergency Department. This 13-week assignment offers 36 hours per week across day and night shifts, with pay rates of $70/hour days and $75/hour nights.

You will join a fast-paced ED team delivering high-quality care to diverse patients. Qualifications include an ASN/BSN, Illinois RN license, BLS, and strong communication and critical thinking.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ASN or BSN).
• Current Illinois RN license in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for ED patients.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and identify care needs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to status changes.
• Provide emergency interventions and support during critical situations.
• Collaborate with physicians and the team to coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses in the EMR.
• Adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards.
