Job summary

AdventHealth in Lake Wales, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse with ED experience to perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality care.

The role includes leadership responsibilities, mentorship of staff, and strict adherence to infection control and documentation standards in the EMR. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience in critical care defined by unit requirements [Required].
• Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills [Required].
• Basic computer skills - Microsoft Windows-based programs [Required].
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required].
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills [Required].
• Leadership ability and mentorship in nursing [Required].
• Accurate documentation in EMR [Required].
• CPR/ALS certifications as applicable [Required].
• Experience with Cerner EMR and EPIC preferred [Preferred].

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safety and protocol adherence.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses, adjusting plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for coordinated patient care.
• Document care activities accurately in the EMR.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
• Mentor nursing staff and maintain a safe, infection-controlled environment.
• Respond to life-threatening situations using established protocols.
