Job summary
University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at UM Capital Region Health in Largo, MD. This full-time role operates a mid-shift (11:30am - midnight) with a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.
The RN will provide independent care within the emergency department, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Maryland RN license or eligible to practice per MD Board of Nursing.
- Diploma in nursing or Associate Degree in nursing.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience; 2 years ED experience for part-time roles per union guidelines.
- Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
- Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent care to unit-specific patient population and serve as a clinical resource.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate patient care.
- Participate in Performance Improvement and Nursing Quality initiatives; support unit-level regulatory compliance.
- Support charge nurse decisions and act as charge nurse for assigned shifts when needed.
