Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This part-time role covers 24 hours per week, daytime shifts from 9am to 9pm, with every 4th weekend. You will provide direct nursing care in a fast-paced ED and participate in a team-focused environment.

New graduates welcome. Indiana RN license required with advanced certifications; shift work includes rotating days and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Indiana RN license (or compact) required
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required
• ACLS certification required (within 12 months of hire)
• PALS certification required (within 12 months of hire)
• NIHSS certification required (within 10 weeks of hire)

Job Duties

• The RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient.
• The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit

The Emergency Department (ED) has 41 beds divided between two pods with 37 private rooms. A split-flow area is located near main triage and provides care to lower acuity patients. Split flow varies from 5-8 patients and is run by 1-2 nurses and a mid-level provider.

This fast-paced ED treats an average of 160+ patients per day. ED staff encounter a wide variety of patients including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients.

The ED is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center.

New Graduate RNs are welcome.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license, or graduate of approved nursing program.
• BLS for healthcare provider required.
• ACLS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
• PALS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
• NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
