Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a skilled Registered Nurse to coordinate patient care across assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation with the care team. You will work across age groups, ensuring safety and timely treatment.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized plans, implement care, educate patients and families, and participate in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1 year nursing experience
• Required: Pediatric Course ACT 548, ACLS within 1 year, Crisis Prevention Training within 6 months, PALS within 1 year
• Preferred: TNCC, NRP, ENPC

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient assessments through data collection and prioritization.
• Analyze assessments to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes.
• Coordinate an interdisciplinary plan of care to attain outcomes.
• Implement interventions identified in the plan of care with the care team.
• Provide individualized education to patients and families.
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient education.
• Perform triage according to department guidelines.
• Conduct focused assessments for all age populations.
• Administer and monitor Procedural Sedation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
