Job summary

St. Francis–Emory Healthcare in Columbus, GA, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department to provide direct and indirect patient care in a high-acuity setting.

The RN uses the nursing process to ensure safe, effective care across the lifespan and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to achieve quality outcomes. Responsibilities include triage, medication administration, IV and hemodynamic monitoring, and procedures.

Qualifications

• ADN required.
• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Diploma program accepted.
• Current state RN license or compact state license.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIH Stroke Scale certification per policy.
• TNCC preferred or required.
• ASLS preferred.
• Emergency nursing experience in acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs triage and prioritizes patient care based on acuity.
• Administers medications and manages critical drips.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures in the ED.
• Monitors hemodynamic status and interprets cardiac rhythms.
• Documents care and education accurately and timely.
• Educates patients and families about care plans and discharge.
• Maintains infection control and sterile techniques.
• Collaborates with providers for optimal care delivery.
• Responds calmly in life-threatening situations.
