Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Vermont RN license in good standing.
• Two-three years’ experience in Emergency Nursing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, required.
• TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred.
• Computer skills and familiarity with using an electronic medical record essential.
• Excellent customer services skills.
• Strong team player and ability to function autonomously.
• Must be willing to work nights.

Responsibilities

• Performs triage using the Emergency Severity Index, considering physical and psychosocial elements to determine urgency.
• Maintains understanding of the Incident Command Structure and can operate within it during crises.
• Collects current symptoms and detailed patient history, coordinating with health care team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Manages basic life support needs according to nursing standards and protocol.
• Monitors and adjusts equipment (Cardiac/ECG, ventilators, NIV devices, high-flow nasal cannula).
• Record vital signs and all care information concisely and accurately.
• Assists Providers during exams, diagnostic tests and treatments.
• Prepares and administers medications with proper patient and medication scanning.
• Reports adverse reactions per policy.
• Maintains supplies and medical equipment for patient care.
• Initiates patient education on post-treatment care and referrals as needed.
• Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks.
