Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Texas is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on the Day shift. The full-time position offers a 7 on/7 off scheduling option and a $10,000 sign-on bonus with an 18-month commitment.

The RN will evaluate patients, assist during examinations, administer medications within the RN scope, and educate patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse within Texas.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Must have a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within nursing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
• Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the RN scope.
• Promotes patient independence by teaching patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care.
• Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Education
