Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care according to department standards and scope of practice. Collaborating with medical providers and care team members, the RN offers individualized, compassionate care using established models like “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients and exemplifies the organization’s values to ensure excellent patient experiences and outcomes.

• Assesses patient pain regularly and promotes effective pain management.
• Performs procedures and documents care accurately and promptly.
• Responds quickly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Educates patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, medications, and follow-up care, translating complex terminology for clarity.
• Guides patients on lifestyle changes and prepares them for self-management.

Qualifications Needed

• PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of hire.
• Registered Nurse license.
• Associate Degree required; BSN preferred with 12-month enrollment and 24-month completion.
• ACLS certification within 90 days; ACLS instructor preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days; BLS instructor preferred.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or similar certification within 1 year.
