Job summary

Universal Health Services' Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA is hiring a full-time Pharmacist for a Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm–10:30 pm shift. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, you will provide drug information and support physicians and nursing staff in delivering appropriate therapy.

You will compound, prepare, mix, manufacture and dispense medicines, oversee pharmacy technicians, and stand in for the Pharmacist in Charge when needed.

Qualifications

• Maintains competency in all aspects of drug therapy for patients of all ages.
• Familiar with laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
• Experience with Pyxis systems and Pyxis Reports.

PHARMACIST

This is a Full Time Monday through Friday 2pm to 10:30pm position located at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, Ca.

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy the Pharmacist provides drug information and assists physicians and nursing staff in providing appropriate drug therapy for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Compounds, prepares, mixes, manufactures and dispenses medicines and preparations. Oversees medications prepared by pharmacy technicians. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a staff pharmacist may be required to perform the function of pharmacist in charge.

The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Maintains competency in all aspects of drug therapy including factors related to patients of all age groups.

Knowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy.

Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis Reports

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 1-year experience as a pharmacist or Health System Residency completed.

Preferred 1-3 years of Hospital experience.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm D.)

ASHP accredited residency Preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS

Current California Board of Pharmacy -Registered Pharmacist.

Current BLS Certification (AHA) within 30 days of hire.

Current ACLS Certification (AHA) within 30 days of hire.

Current PALS Certification (AHA) within 60 days of hire.
