Overview

Join Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital, a Magnet Hospital recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and provide world-class healthcare. As a Paramedic, you will deliver emergency treatment, including advanced life support, assess urgent medical needs, and stabilize patients in emergencies. This role involves working day/evening/night/weekend shifts, 9:00am—9:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under RN supervision in the Emergency Department.
• Record vital signs, perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy, and suctioning.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and saline locks.
• Notify RNs or physicians of rhythm changes.
• Apply orthopedic appliances, simple splints, and assist with equipment setup.
• Transport patients and specimens, assist with sterile procedures, and maintain supplies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Administer fluids and medications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program.
• Current Ohio licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year of employment.
• Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic training program.

Preferred Qualifications

• International Trauma Life Support (ITLS).
• One year of experience as an EMT-P.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Full-body motion to move and lift patients, extensive standing and walking.
• Exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently.
• Use of personal protective equipment as required.
