Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital in Ohio seeks a Paramedic caregiver to join the Emergency Department team. You will assess urgent medical needs, stabilize patients, obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy, suctioning, and support RN and physicians.

The shift runs 3:00pm–3:30am. Minimum qualifications include accredited EMS-Paramedic training, Ohio EMTP license, BLS, ACLS, PALS (on hire or within one year), and clinical EMS experience.

Formación

• Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program.
• Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• PALS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross upon hire or within one year.

Responsabilidades

• Provide duties that assist in patient care in the Emergency Department under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy and oral, nasal and ET suctioning.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy and saline locks.
• Notify the RN and/or physician of rhythm changes.
• Apply orthopaedic appliances and simple splints.
• Size crutches and teach crutch walking.
• Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, LP, etc.
• Assist with restraint and seclusion of patients and apply restraint devices.
• Transport patients and specimens.
• Assist with sterile procedures and cleaning and maintaining supplies and equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy.
• Perform fluid/drug administration.
