Job summary

OrthoNebraska seeks an Assistant Manager for the Emergency Department to oversee day-to-day operations, staff scheduling, and training, reporting to the Nurse Manager. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and leadership across DEPARTMENT operations in a high-quality care environment.

40 hours per week, Mon–Fri 8a–5p, with a requirement for nursing leadership experience, Nebraska RN license, and BLS/PALS/ACLS. Masters preferred. Join a team recognized as a top employer in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program is required.
• Licensed RN in Nebraska or eligible compact state.
• Graduate from accredited school of nursing is required; master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to the team overseeing departmental functions to maintain efficiency and safety.
• Lead departmental performance improvement initiatives and collaborate with leadership across departments to enhance patient care.
• Demonstrate the ability to perform essential nursing functions.
• Develop and comply with safety activities, policies and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
• Monitor adherence to policy and procedures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Provide education and correction to staff as necessary.
• Create and oversee departmental staffing.
• Contribute to professional growth of all team members.
• Other duties as assigned.
