Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to assist in patient care across nursing areas, transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher, and perform dispatch and documentation tasks. The role also involves observing patients on units who require constant observation to maximize safety and facilitating efficient unit functioning through receptionist and clerical duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Basic medical terminology understood.
• Basic computer skills and ability to document information accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct/non-direct patient care under licensed personnel.
• Observe and report patient data/status to the RN.
• Support safe patient transport and documentation of services.
• Maintain current knowledge/certification and act as a preceptor to new employees.
• Uphold a culture of safety and compliance on the unit.
