Job summary

The Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System (GLA) - West Los Angeles is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Emergency Department on the day shift. The NA provides direct patient care, assists with daily living activities, and monitors high-risk Veterans under licensed nursing staff guidance.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, supporting patient safety and coordination, and contributing to efficient ED operations in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Education or training matching VA NA requirements as described.
• High school completion with health-related coursework preferred.
• English language proficiency for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Monitor high-risk Veterans and respond to emergencies under supervision.
• Document assessments and observations in the EHR.
• Assist with care planning and coordinate with RN/LVN for ED operations.
• Support safety, infection control, and patient privacy in a fast-paced ED.
