Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Longview, TX is seeking an experienced RN to provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced setting. You will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care per nursing processes and protocols, administer medications, document thoroughly, and educate patients and families.

Requirements include an RN license (TX or compact), BLS, and completion of orientation and annual competencies.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of employment or compact
• BLS certification required
• All newly hired RNs attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire
• New hires may be precepted and undergo orientation and competency validation
• Completion of annual competency verification requirements

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication and care given
• Addresses learning needs; provides education to patients, families, and/or caregivers
• Delegates appropriately to other care providers to manage clinical situations
