Qualifications

  • ACLS & TNCC certifications needed within 12 months.

Job description

Work Schedule:
  • Mainly Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 4:30 PM
Description:
  • Plans, directs, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in one unit on a particular shift, including functioning in the Charge Nurse role.
  • Responsible for orientation, training, and management of personnel.
  • Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care.
  • Maintains satisfactory relations with other departments.
  • Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills.
Requirements:
  • Educational/Experience:
  • Current Iowa Registered Nurse licensure.
  • 2-5 years Emergency Department RN experience.
  • ACLS & TNCC required within 12 months of employment.
  • Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
  • Supervisory experience (preferred).
  • NRP and PALS (preferred).

Group Life and AD&D Insurance:

Provides life and AD&D insurance of $15,000 for employee and $2,000 for spouse and dependents; paid by LCHC.

Voluntary Life Insurance:

Provides optional life insurance for employee, spouse, and dependents; available on the first of the month following 60 days of employment; paid by employee.

Group Short-Term Disability:

Provides income protection up to 50% of weekly earnings for disability up to 13 weeks; is effective first day of accident or fifteenth day of sickness or pregnancy; available first of the month following 60 days of employment; paid by LCHC.

Group Long-Term Disability:

Provides income protection up to 50% of monthly earnings to a maximum of $6,000 per month for disability following 90-day waiting period; available first of the month following 60 days of employment; paid by LCHC.

Allstate:

Opportunity to purchase additional insurance policies (accident, cancer indemnity, intensive care/critical illness, etc.); available the first of the month following 60 days of employment; paid by employee.

IPERS:

Retirement program offered through Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System; effective the first of the month following 60 days of employment; paid by LCHC and employee.

457/401(a):

Opportunity to make pre-tax contributions to a tax-deferred retirement plan with Hartford; available the first of the month following 60 days of employment; paid by employee.
