Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse, Nursing Professional Development Generalist (Educator) for our Emergency Department. You will support orientation, practice transitions and ongoing education to improve quality and patient outcomes in a high-paced ED with Level I Trauma Center status.

The role requires a BSN and RN licensure, with BLS/ACLS/PALS within 90 days and ED/trauma experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Level Degree, BSN in Registered Nursing Required
• Two Years of Clinical RN experience Required
• Emergency Department, Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Certification/Licensure: RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assumes operational responsibility for staff education within designated populations
• Supports orientation, practice transitions and continuing education
• Provides competency validation to move nurses from novice to competent practitioners
• Supports quality, safety and patient outcomes through education initiatives
