Job summary

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a full-time Clinical Nurse Educator for the Emergency Department. You will design, deliver, and evaluate nursing education programs, lead orientation for new staff, and ensure evidence-based practice across the ED's 76 private treatment rooms and Life Flight support.

You will collaborate with clinical nurse specialists, assess learning needs, track quality indicators, and document outcomes in the learning management system

Qualifications

• BSN is required; MSN preferred.
• Licensure: current Washington RN license or Multistate RN license by date of hire.
• Experience: minimum 3 years RN experience and 3 years in clinical education/preceptor role.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required at date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource for caregivers on clinical practice, protocols, and equipment.
• Design and deliver nursing education programs and standardized training curricula.
• Lead department-specific orientation for newly hired clinical staff.
• Conduct learning needs assessments and guide process improvements.
• Evaluate competencies, identify performance gaps, and develop targeted interventions.
• Create evidence-based learning experiences that support remediation and growth.
• Assess engagement, track patient quality indicators, and measure educational effectiveness.
• Ensure documentation in learning management systems and standardized tools.
• Collaborate with clinical nurse specialists and educators across the system to promote excellence.
• Support best practices for safe, effective, patient-centered care.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of hospital policies, quality improvement, and safety programs.
