MedStar Georgetown University Hospital seeks an experienced Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Educator to lead educational initiatives, advance nursing practice, and support certification across the ED. The role focuses on advancing clinical competency, promoting certification, and integrating best practices in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree in Nursing Education or related field preferred.
• CNE certification or eligibility within 1 year required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mentor, coach, and role model for nursing staff.
• Assess learning needs and design, implement, and evaluate education programs and unit-based orientation.
• Support certification and professional development, including specialty fellowship programs.
• Lead performance improvement, quality initiatives, and nursing research.
• Collaborate across interdisciplinary and academic partners to support clinical and educational objectives and enhance practice environments.
• Promote shared governance through active participation in nursing councils, committees, task forces, and system initiatives.
