Sugar Land Veterinary Specialty and Emergency (SLVS) invites an experienced Emergency Doctor to join our premier multi-disciplinary hospital in a leadership-capable role as Emergency Department Head. Since 2007, SLVS has provided high-level referral and emergency services in a modern facility.

We emphasize daily rounds, mentorship, and career development for clinicians and support staff, with a collaborative culture focused on excellence in veterinary medicine.

Qualifications

• DVM degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency medicine.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to manage a diverse emergency caseload.
• Demonstrated leadership ability or interest in leadership development.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients during scheduled clinical shifts.
• Responsible for the Emergency doctor team schedule.
• Oversee daily operations of the ER department in collaboration with hospital leadership.
• Support, mentor and guide emergency clinicians and support staff.
• Participate in monthly Department Head meetings and contribute to hospital‑wide initiatives.
• Assist in developing and implementing departmental protocols, workflows, and quality‑of‑care standards.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.

Sugar Land Veterinary Specialty and Emergency (SLVS) is ready to welcome an experienced Emergency Doctor to join our premier multi-disciplinary hospital. This position also serves as the Emergency Department Head, offering an excellent opportunity for a motivated veterinarian to combine clinical excellence with departmental leadership. Since 2007, SLVS has been a pillar of the South Texas veterinary community, providing high-level referral and emergency services within our 19,000-square-foot facility.
