Job summary

Riverside Smithfield Hospital in Smithfield, Virginia is seeking an Emergency Technician to support physicians and RNs in the ED. You will perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, monitor patients, draw blood, perform EKGs, and assist with data collection.

You must have a High School Diploma or GED, EMT training or Paramedic, and CPR/BLS; certification required upon hire; ACLS/PALS within 180 days. PRN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• EMT/Paramedic training preferred.
• 1 year Emergency Technician experience (PRN).
• CPR/BLS, NREMT/VDHP certification required upon hire.
• ACLS and PALS within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and RNs in delivery of patient care.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and monitor patients.
• Fill in as monitor tech as needed to support throughput.
• Document care per RHS standards and ensure safety.
