About The Outer Banks Hospital
The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility serves a coastal community with a population of approximately 35,000, swelling to 350,000 in summer. It includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Position Summary
The Director of Emergency Services manages triage, emergency department, fast track, and observation activities. Collaborates with ECU Health and Chesapeake Health Authority, ensuring effective communication and resource utilization. Maintains operational coordination aligned with organizational goals, participating in leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making processes with Board, Medical Staff, and management.
