Job summary

Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to deliver patient-centered pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced ED setting.

You will collaborate with ED physicians to assess needs, comorbidities, and optimize drug therapy and dosing at the bedside while supporting the care team with evidence-based recommendations.

This on-site, night-shift role offers a dynamic environment within a Level 2 Trauma Center and Stroke Center.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist registration in Texas required upon hire.
• PharmD or B.Pharm degree required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pharmaceutical care and cost-effective pharmacy services in collaboration with the care team.
• Evaluate patient needs and comorbidities and recommend drug therapy and dosing at the bedside.
• Support ED physicians with patient-specific pharmacotherapy decisions in a Level 2 Trauma Center.

The Clinical Pharmacist has the responsibility for the provision of high-quality, individualized, cost-effective pharmaceutical care and integrated pharmacy operational services in collaboration with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and quality of life. Pharmacists work closely with our ED physicians at the bedside to evaluate patient needs, comorbidities and provide recommendations for drug therapy and dosing. The Covenant ED is a Level 2 Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center making it a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients that require expert clinical pharmacist support.

Required Qualifications

• PharmD in Pharmacy or
• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
• Upon hire: Texas Pharmacist Registered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Acute Care Hospital Pharmacy experience, 1 year or equivalent experience.
• Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency.
