Job summary

Providence is seeking a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialist at Covenant Medical Center in Texas. The role focuses on improving nursing practice and leadership through ongoing education, change facilitation, and practice transitions.

The NPD practitioner serves as a change agent, mentor, and learning facilitator across orientation, competency management, and collaborative partnerships, with a commitment to patient-focused, whole-person care and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must meet the criteria to sit for the NCLEX examination and become licensed in the state of Texas.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Upon hire: Texas Registered Nurse License.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 3 years related experience.
• 1 year recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.

Nursing professional development (NPD) is a nursing practice specialty that improves the professional practice and role competence of nurses and other healthcare personnel by facilitating ongoing learning, change, and role competence and growth with the intention of improving population health through indirect care. The role of the NPD practitioner is multi-faceted and includes serving as a change agent, mentor, learning facilitator and partner for practice transitions. Areas of NPD responsibility are: 1) orientation and onboarding; 2) competency management; 3) education; 4) role development; 5) collaborative partnerships; and (6) inquiry.

Required Qualifications:
