Job summary

VetEvolve is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician for our 24-hour emergency and critical care team at Bay Beach Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA. The role will focus on hands-on nursing care, monitoring, and collaboration with veterinarians to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed/Certified/Registered Veterinary Technician credential required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, laboratory procedures, radiology, and dentistry.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with practice management software.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients, including IV catheter placement and ongoing monitoring.
• Prepare, monitor, and recover patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Perform laboratory diagnostics and document results accurately.
• Operate radiology and ultrasound equipment per safety standards.
• Maintain accurate daily controlled drug logs and handle controlled substances properly.
• Create and update treatment plans in the medical record system.
• Support hospital operations through accurate recordkeeping and chart auditing.
• Educate clients on preventative care and treatment plans.
