Job summary

University Health is seeking an Emergency Center Technician to join our team. You will assist EC staff with patient preparation and treatment and take vital signs for patients across acute and non-acute cases.

The role involves recording care data, transporting patients as needed, and working in a fast-paced emergency center to support exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Texas EMT certification or equivalent; 3 years in ED or 2 years military with similar experience preferred.
• Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or Instructor Provider card required.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports and records direct and indirect patient care data. Assists Emergency Center (EC) staff with patient preparation and treatment procedures, both acute and non-acute illnesses and injuries. Takes patients' vital signs and transports patients to other locations as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• A high school diploma, its equivalent, or higher degree is required.
• Valid Texas EMT certification or equivalent experience (3 years experience in a comparable emergency department or 2 year’s experience in the military with similar experience) is preferred.
• Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
