Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Irvine, CA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to work between Cardiology and Emergency departments. Pay ranges from $23 to $37 per hour.

The role involves anesthesia induction/monitoring, triage of emergency cases, radiography, patient vital signs assessment, and mentoring colleagues. Qualifications

• Experienced veterinary technician in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and vital signs.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and IV catheter placement.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals including temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper positioning.
• Understand normal ranges for vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Interpret blood pressure and other vitals and communicate issues to Veterinarian.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
