Job summary

Butte County is seeking an Animal Control Dispatcher I to operate communications equipment, evaluate calls, and dispatch officers to incidents. You will provide information on local laws and regulations, and maintain logs for reports and rabies data.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade; and
• Two years of general office/computer experience or dispatcher experience; or one year in dispatcher/telecom roles.

Responsibilities

• Receive and evaluate emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate units.
• Operate multiple communication devices and document officer locations and actions.
• Read maps and use GIS tools to locate incident sites and provide directions.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required reports.
