Job summary

McLaughlin Research Corp. is seeking an EMC Engineering Technician in Newport, RI to support the Principal Engineer overseeing the EMC program. The role involves assisting with troubleshooting, EMI testing on U.S.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Eligible for Secret-level security clearance.
  • Ability to work in a team assembling, installing and operating complex mechanical components for testing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Engineer with troubleshooting submarine CASREPS and SUBs casualty messages.
  • Assist Engineer with EMI testing and troubleshooting teams on U.S. submarines, dockside and at sea.
  • Perform MIL‑STD‑461 EMC testing on submarine equipment.
  • Build EMI‑hardened test kits for submarine sonar and communications.
  • Assist Engineer with ensuring effective coordination of dockside and shipyard project activities.
  • Assist Engineer with development of presentations, test reports, trip reports, and other EMC documentation.
