Job summary

Intertek is seeking an EMC Engineer for the 2nd shift in Boxborough, MA. The role involves independent testing and evaluation to EMC/EMI standards, with occasional travel up to 15% and the opportunity to grow within a global Q.A. organization.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, knowledge of EMC/EMI standards (ANSI/CSA/UL/EN/IEC), and strong communication skills. Shift is 4pm–12am.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 2nd Shift - 4pm to 12am
  • No experience required - Recent grads considered
  • Demonstrated experience with U.S., Canadian, and other International EMC/EMI compliance standards, i.e., ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license and safe driving record
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Microsoft Office software experience is a must have
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • Ability to travel up to 15% as business needs dictate

Responsibilities

  • Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
  • Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
  • Validate the project scope and sample applicability.
  • Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
  • Follow established test plan.
  • Develop and setting up test plans.
  • Set up and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
  • Set up and operating standard test equipment including spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generators, amplifiers, surge generator, etc.
  • Follow sample handling procedures, ensuring that sample is logged in and out of the system.
  • Perform testing of products in accordance with standards.
  • Supply information for quotes such as length of project, site needed, rental equipment, samples, and standards that will be used.
  • Perform in-situ jobs as necessary.
  • Provide sales support such as attending client visits.
  • Communicate project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.
  • Perform other work as required.
