Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a resourceful EM design engineer to drive EMC/ESD/EMI/RFE simulations for cutting‑edge consumer electronics. You’ll simplify CAD geometries, import flex boards, and perform system‑level analyses to optimize electromagnetic performance.

Collaborate across disciplines, apply AI/ML to simulation workflows, and validate models with experiments. Requires an MSEE in EMC/EM-related field and 3+ years’ experience with CST, ANSYS, EMCoS, or COMSOL.

Description

In this role, you’ll conduct EM simulations on various topics to aid in the development of cutting-edge consumer electronics products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex EMC/ESD/EMI/RFE challenges. We’re seeking an individual who consistently seeks new knowledge, possesses self-starting qualities, and can work independently with remarkable success. Responsibilities

• Simplify complex CAD geometries from various sources and make them ready for integration into complete systems.
• Import board files from various flexes and seamlessly integrate them into a comprehensive system assembly.
• Perform system-level and module-level EMC/ESD/EMI/RFE simulations.
• Perform complex hybrid EM/Circuit simulations by integrating s-parameters with circuit models.
• Review and analyze electrical and mechanical designs, as well as designing and conducting experiments to validate simulation models.
• Apply AI and ML techniques to simulation workflows to facilitate early design explorations.

Minimum Qualifications

• An MSEE in an EMC or EM-related field
• 3+ years of experience with EM simulation software such as CST, ANSYS, EMCoS, and/or COMSOL.
• Deep understanding of EM physics in the areas of EMC, EMI, and/or RFE.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Must be highly motivated and must have excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in EMC or EM related field
• 5+ years of experience with EM simulation software such as CST, ANSYS, EMCoS, and/or COMSOL.
• 5+ years of experience in EM related area such as EMC, antenna, RF, SI/PI.
• Experience with integrating AI tools in simulation workflows.
• Ability to navigate through ambiguity and break down complex problems into simplified and manageable parts
• Knowledge of wireless power transfer systems and regulatory RF exposure standards
