Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks a Compliance Engineer - EMC to oversee projects, develop tests, and support customers in an advanced test facility. You will work on EMC, safety, and product ecology standards, documenting procedures and reports to ISO 17025.

The role requires a strong engineering background, hands-on testing skills, and the ability to collaborate across product teams while maintaining high quality and integrity.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years working knowledge of compliance engineering practices at electronics development/manufacturing company.
• Familiarity with EMC design mitigation methods for industrial/public utility environments.
• Hands-on working knowledge of common EMC testing equipment.
• Experience with IEC/EN/KN 61000-4-2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -8, -9, -10, -11, -12, -16, -17, -18, -29; IEC/EN 61000-3-2, -3; IEC/EN/KN 60255-26; IEEE C37.90.1, .2, .3; Unintentional Radiators (FCC Part 15B and CISPR 11, 22, 32).
• Self-motivated/self-starter.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of standards and requirements for EMC, Safety, and Product Ecology.
• Develop compliance tests, procedures, and reports; ensure documentation meets ISO 17025 and quality system requirements.
• Maintain general understanding of SEL products and markets; provide technical assistance to product groups.
• Oversee compliance project activities and support customer inquiries.
