Job description

At Weezie, we make towels and gifts worth celebrating, and we're on a mission to bring delight to life's moments, big and small. Embroidery and customization sit at the heart of that experience, and we're looking for an Embroidery Development Specialist to lead the development behind it, from concept through a ready-to-produce design. This person will own development across embroidery, appliqué, and custom logos, and will be the go-to expert making sure design intent can actually be brought to life in our production environment. This is a role that spans the artistry and execution of personalization. Based in Atlanta, this role splits time between our HQ/Design studio and our Austell production location, and sits within our Product Development and Design department, reporting to our Senior Designer.

It's an exciting time to join Weezie, a two-time Inc. 5000 honoree (2024 and 2025). You'll be stepping in at a pivotal inflection point as we scale toward our next major milestones.

What You'll Do
  • Drive the development of embroidery, appliqué, custom logo, icons, and customization capabilities, translating original design intent into production-ready, manufacturable designs across our product portfolio
  • Own design specifications, including sizing, placement, character counts, stitch types, densities, and paths, so each design executes as intended
  • Train to become our expert in our embroidery software and design programs: handle digitization and template creation, manage the upfront development process with software and digitizing partners, and serve as our design-side expert on font/template management and launch prep
  • Serve as our design-for-manufacturing expert, reviewing new designs and logos against production capabilities and run rate, flagging adjustments before they reach the production floor, and building mockups, stitch-outs, and customer and photoshoot samples to the highest standards for approval before launch
  • Develop custom logo and corporate gifting requests from concept through client-approved, production-ready file, in partnership with Business Development
  • Collaborate with Design and Fulfillment on a continuous improvement program for post-launch customization quality, assisting in diagnosing and troubleshooting root‑cause issues in templates, digitization, or specs.
  • Test and evaluate new substrates, product placements, equipment, and customization methods to expand our capabilities, and maintain organized file systems, version control, and documentation for production files
Who You Are
  • 3-5 years of experience with hands‑on embroidery design and execution experience in a commercial environment
  • Experience with embroidery and/or digitization software, with a strong aptitude to become an expert in our internal design and production system, including template creation and setup.
  • Strong design eye combined with technical know‑how, able to take a creative concept and figure out how to actually bring it to life
  • Comfortable assessing designs against machine capability, and flagging adjustments early
  • Strong understanding of stitch types, underlay, density, pull compensation, sequencing, hooping/clamping, and stabilizers.
  • Broad understanding of different substrates and materials and how they interact in the embroidery process.
  • Strong cross‑functional communicator, able to liaise effectively with Design, Ops, and Web
  • Interest in R&D (testing new substrates, equipment, or customization methods)
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Tajima embroidery machines and Pulse digitizing software is a plus.
  • Problem‑solving and time management skills
What to Expect
  • This role is based primarily at our fulfillment center located in Austell, GA., with approximately one day per week at our corporate office located in Atlanta for collaboration and design reviews. Due to the hands‑on nature of the work, this role is not eligible for remote work.
  • An opportunity to become Weezie's go‑to embroidery expert and help evolve our customization capabilities.
  • A team that works hard but knows how to #enjoythestay
  • Generous Paid Time Off
  • 10 paid holidays per year
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Anniversary benefits program, including a Summer Fridays (1pm summer close) after 1 year of service, $3,000 travel credit after 3 years of service, and a 5‑week paid sabbatical after 5 years of service
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Short‑term Disability, and Life Insurance
  • 401(k) plan with a 1% company match
  • Generous Weezie product gifts and discounts for you, your friends, and family
