Job summary

General Motors in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a talented Embodied AI Data Scaling Intern to join our Data Scaling team. The role focuses on building data pipelines, analyzing large datasets, and improving training workflows for autonomous driving models.

You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to develop infrastructure that increases experiment quality and throughput, with hands-on work on data curation, labeling, and distributed training tools.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Master’s degree in CS/ML/DS/EE.
• Experience in ML, data engineering, distributed systems, or related area.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with data processing and large-scale datasets.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop data pipelines and tooling for large-scale autonomous driving datasets.
• Analyze data quality, coverage, distribution, and performance impact using quantitative methods.
• Prototype and evaluate data mining and labeling approaches.
• Improve training throughput and experiment reproducibility.
• Collaborate with ML researchers, data engineers, infrastructure engineers, and autonomy teams.
• Build visualizations, dashboards, and evaluation workflows.
• Contribute to production-quality software via reviews, CI, testing.
• Present technical findings and document experiments.
