Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Bartender for the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel located in Eagan, Minnesota. The role requires mastery of drink recipes and a strong guest service focus. Omni Viking Lakes Hotel

Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is a substantial part of the 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed‑use development, this destination is home to the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium. The location is easily accessible from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America and airport, with additional uses for the planned development to include corporate offices, retail, restaurants and entertainment. The 320‑room luxury hotel features more than 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre‑function space, including a 7,500‑square‑foot ballroom, a 4,410‑square‑foot event center and six two‑story hospitality lounges for groups and meeting planners to utilize. From small board meetings, conferences and large galas or special events to Sunday football tailgates and more, the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel accommodates groups of all sizes with its robust meetings offerings, multiple food and beverage venues, a signature spa and state‑of‑the‑art fitness facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Master drink recipes according to brand standards.
  • Maintain full familiarity with menus and knowledge of beverage offerings, including wine service.
  • Support new Omni Safe and Clean protocols throughout the outlet to support Omni's Covid‑19 related sanitation protocols.
  • Follow procedures as outlined in employee manual and bartender's manual. Jiggers pour, making drinks for servers only when rung in on Micros.
  • Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
  • Attend to all needs of the guest during their visit to the restaurant.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
  • Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests.
  • Alert the manager immediately if a member or guest has a suggestion, complaint, or issue.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant/bar area.
  • Send orders using MICROS system, present accurate check to guest and process payment.
  • Complete all opening and closing side work.
  • Ensure consistency in the presentation and recipes of all cocktails.
  • Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
  • Ensure all products are within date and using the FIFO method of storage.
  • Monitor inventory, place and receive warehouse orders daily and ensure proper par levels of all products.
  • Notify managers immediately if there are discrepancies.
  • Attend department meetings and other required company trainings.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Must be at a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Two years bartending experience.
  • Previous bartending and guest service experience required; upscale hotel or resort experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current TIPS, ServSafe or equivalent alcohol training.
  • MICROS experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must consistently demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be teamwork‑oriented, and exhibit a positive attitude.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Must agree and adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and multitask.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Working Environment
  • Interior of restaurant kitchen and designated bar area, with occasional travel around the property as needed.
  • Exposure to a kitchen environment with high temperatures.
  • Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to food and beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to food items and beverages.

  • MICROS computer and card, Kronos, telephone, wine key, knife, glass washer.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary for this position starts at $15.82 per hour (based on experience). Full‑time associates at Omni Viking Lakes are entitled to elect the following benefits: medical, dental, vision and other healthcare benefits; paid maternity leave; 401(k); and paid time off accrual. Omni Viking Lakes reserves the right to pay more or less than the listed compensation scale based on factors not related to sex or race. Additional associate benefits include discounts at the spa and restaurants, discounted rates at other Omni properties, corporate discounts and continued education opportunities.
