Job summary

AbbVie seeks a software engineer to develop and maintain event-driven, multi-threaded applications interacting with embedded devices. You will participate in requirements refinement, architecture discussions, and test plan development for features across the full stack.

You will write clean code with unit and integration tests, adapt systems for growth, review code, and help document engineering practices in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in a STEM discipline with 6+ years of professional coding experience.
• At least 4 years of software design and development experience.
• At least 3 years of Windows programming with C# and .NET in an embedded device environment.
• Experience with event-driven, multi-threaded Windows-based applications using WPF, WCF, .NET and C# preferred.
• Knowledge of hardware and embedded systems with microprocessors.
• Experience in regulated development environments, such as medical device development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements refinement, architecture discussions, design specification reviews, and test plan development for features across the full stack.
• Write clean, maintainable code and documentation with unit, component, and integration tests.
• Develop and maintain event-driven, multi-threaded applications interacting with embedded devices.
• Support debugging across software and hardware interfaces and design test plans with quality teams.
• Research new tools, technologies, and test processes for software development and participate in code reviews.
