Job summary

Intuitive Surgical is seeking a hands-on UI software manager for the SP system to lead a cross-functional team responsible for the UI and state machine. You will drive embedded software design, prototyping, testing, and releases with a focus on safety, learnability, and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with design, human factors, and clinical teams, and implement best practices across the development lifecycle to deliver high-quality surgical interfaces.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in embedded software
• 3+ years leading UI software engineers
• Experience in safety-critical environments and medical devices

Responsibilities

• Lead the UI software team through full development lifecycle and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, human factors, clinical) to define UI needs
• Champion best practices: code reviews, CI, risk assessment, testing and releases
• Maintain traceability from software requirements to verification tests and hazards
