INFOTRON is seeking an Embedded Systems Software Test Engineer – Python Automation to design and execute automated tests for embedded hardware platforms in a contract role. You will build Python-based test frameworks, validate CAN, APIs, and hardware interfaces, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Python development, Pytest experience, and a background in testing physical hardware, with familiarity of ReadyAPI and API testing tools.

Embedded Systems Software Test Engineer – Python Automation

Employment Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension

Type: On-site (5 days a week)

Position Overview

• We are specifically seeking engineers with experience testing embedded systems and physical hardware products.
• The strongest candidates will have built Python-based automated testing solutions that interact directly with embedded devices, hardware products, communication protocols, and APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test software for embedded systems and hardware products using Python.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using Python and Pytest.
• Test communication and interaction between embedded software, edge devices, APIs, and hardware components.
• Perform API testing, including REST/HTTP and SOAP web services.
• Develop and execute tests involving CAN communication protocols.
• Use tools such as ReadyAPI for API and web-service testing.
• Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing of embedded products.
• Troubleshoot failures involving software, firmware, device communications, and hardware interfaces.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub runners.
• Analyze test results, document defects, and collaborate with embedded software, firmware, systems, and hardware engineering teams.
• Support product verification and validation activities in accordance with applicable quality and engineering processes.

Required Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in embedded systems software testing and test automation.
• Hands-on experience writing automated test code using Python.
• Strong experience with Pytest or similar Python-based test frameworks.
• Experience testing physical hardware products, embedded devices, or edge devices.
• Experience with CAN communication protocols.
• Experience with API testing, including HTTP-based APIs.
• Experience testing SOAP web services.
• Experience with ReadyAPI or similar API testing tools.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub runners.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across software/hardware interfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing or executing automated tests for medical devices.
• Experience working within a regulated product-development environment, such as:
• Automotive
• Aerospace
• Defense
• Understanding of verification and validation practices for embedded products.
• Experience testing connected or network-enabled hardware products.
• Wi-Fi and RF testing experience is a strong plus.
