Job summary

Battelle is seeking engineers to develop embedded software solutions for government and industrial customers. You will work on memory-constrained hardware, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to design, implement, test, and document software and firmware.

The role requires strong C/C++, Python skills, Linux familiarity, and ability to travel. A US citizen with ability to obtain DoD clearance is preferred, with a hybrid in-person/remote work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience or Master’s in related field.
• May require up to 4 years of related experience depending on contract.
• Strong C, C++ and Python programming skills.
• Basic TCP/IP and socket programming knowledge.
• Familiarity with Linux OS and development tools.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; willingness to travel.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify software/firmware for memory constrained hardware.
• Translate goals between customers and the team; set expectations.
• Research libraries and tools; perform full software life cycle tasks.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop software solutions.
• Maintain and develop custom software for projects.
