Job summary

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) invites applications for Student Assistants to support embedded system cybersecurity testing in the ESVD within CIPHER. You will analyze complex problems, create high-level block diagrams, and develop scripts to support testing on embedded devices, radios, and routers.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s in EE, CS or related field, can commit 10–20 hours weekly, and have strong written communication. U.S.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
2.0 or higher GPA
Experience with capture the flag events, firmware/software reverse engineering, or software-defined radios
Task / team leadership experience
Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
Familiarity with Linux and open source tools
Configuration management tools
Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
Knowledge of IDA Pro and/or Ghidra
Experience in 1 or more programming languages

Responsibilities

Assist with embedded system cybersecurity testing and analysis.
Create high-level block diagrams for testing scenarios.
Develop custom scripts to support testing on embedded devices.
Solve problems from first principles in collaboration with the team.
Work on projects involving embedded systems development, hardware reverse engineering, firmware reverse engineering, and signals analysis.
