Job summary

Revel offers an embedded software engineering internship where you will contribute to software connecting a high-performance runtime to hardware. You’ll work with Rust, C and C++ to develop systems software and hardware interfaces on Linux, gaining exposure to HALs and low‑level debugging.

This paid, summer internship runs in 2027 with on-site work in Los Angeles or San Francisco, providing hands‑on experience across software and hardware boundaries and collaboration with senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as CS/CE/EE.
• Rising junior or senior with expected graduation in 2027 or 2028.
• Strong fundamentals in systems programming languages (C/C++, Rust).
• Foundational knowledge of operating systems and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Write and contribute to Rust code targeting Linux userspace.
• Assist hardware integration via register maps and hardware protocols.
• Develop HALs to interface Revel software with physical hardware.
• Build software for sensors, actuators, controllers, and other hardware.
• Use hardware debugging tools like logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Write tests to improve reliability of low-level software.
• Participate in code reviews with experienced engineers.
• Debug across software, OS, interfaces, and hardware.
• Learn how reliability and correctness are required in real systems.
