Job summary

Baxter Aerospace, LLC is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Intern to design, develop, and test embedded software for flight computers and mission-critical systems. You will work closely with hardware and avionics teams to ensure reliable, high-performance software that meets aerospace standards.

This hands-on role requires strong C programming, real-time microcontroller experience (ARM Cortex-M), and a solid background in embedded systems development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Expertise in C programming for embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M).
• Experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS).
• Familiarity with debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes).
• Knowledge of deterministic real-time software design.
• U.S. Person per ITAR/EAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software for flight computers with real-time performance.
• Write and optimize C code for microcontrollers.
• Implement drivers, bootloaders, and peripherals.
• Integrate algorithms for navigation, control, and data processing.
• Debug on hardware with hardware engineers.
• Perform unit, integration, and system testing.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
• Participate in system architecture reviews.
