Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking an embedded software engineer to design and implement software for embedded devices and systems. You will participate in end-to-end development from requirements to production, including debugging and validating firmware across product lines.

The role requires hands-on embedded development, knowledge of C/C++, and experience with multi-threaded Linux/RTOS environments, plus familiarity with Yocto/PetaLinux.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in C/C++ development.
• Embedded software design for real-time systems.
• Hands-on development and debugging on embedded targets.
• Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.
• Experience with multi-threaded programming in Linux and RTOS.
• Experience with Yocto-based Linux OS development and deployment (PetaLinux preferable).
• Familiarity with boot loader configurations and CI pipelines for embedded projects.
• Solid documentation and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and deployment.
• Develops, codes, tests, and debugs system software for product lines.
• Works on embedded firmware specifications, design, and development.
• Analyzes and enhances efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources.
• Integrates and validates new product designs; supports QA; provides postproduction support.
• Interfaces with hardware design and development.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
