Job summary

Crane Nuclear, a Crane Co. business unit, seeks a Computer Engineer to design, develop, and support a broad range of hardware and software for nuclear power products. You will participate in project teams and provide estimates, schedules, and prototypes.

Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing in C#, .NET, Python; creating electrical schematics and BOMs; integrating hardware and software; and using Azure DevOps to manage tasks. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum five years experience in hardware system design and development.
• Hands-on with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and hardware/software integration.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, Python.
• Understanding of networking protocols and operating systems.
• Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings.
• Experience with PCB design tools and electrical diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and test complex software in a structured project management methodology.
• Develop and maintain hardware and software design specifications and documentation.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials.
• Perform hardware/software integration and validation procedures for product testing.
• Manage electrical design data with configuration control and documentation.
• Coordinate tasks using Microsoft Azure DevOps environment.
• Maintain and enhance existing software for reliability and maintainability.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers for hardware and software.
