Job summary

SIG SAUER is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II to develop and refine moderately complex software for new and legacy products. You will work with a cross‑functional team, contribute to NPI, and help drive design reviews and robust embedded solutions.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 years of embedded software experience, strong C/C++ skills for microcontrollers and RTOS, and proficiency with VSCode and Git. Travel is infrequent; safety and ISO procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in software engineering with 3–6 years of software experience.
• Develop and optimize embedded software including C/C++ for microcontrollers and RTOS.
• Proficiency with debugging tools, drivers, firmware, and comms (UART/SPI/I2C/CAN).
• Experience using VSCode and Git; ability to document and present results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software components focusing on efficiency, scalability, and maintainability.
• Refine development processes and own small features with quality and adherence to standards.
• Contribute to R&D projects in a team setting to meet delivery dates.
• Perform testing, analyze results, and generate test reports.
• Assist in release planning, automate deployments, and improve release documentation.
• Support cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, Quality, and Assembly.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in NPI activities; travel infrequently.
• Adhere to Safety and ISO procedures; engage in Continuous Improvement tasks.
