Job summary

WD Irvine, CA, is seeking an Electronics Engineer to provide comprehensive electronics support for HDD products. You will collaborate with firmware, manufacturing and customer-facing teams to implement hardware features and resolve issues.

Responsibilities include working with FAE and WWFA teams to analyze customer failures, applying methodical problem‑solving using debug tools, and maintaining tools and reporting status clearly.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with failure mode analysis and debug tools (blink codes, error logs, bus traces).
• Knowledge of high-speed PCB signal integrity and hardware debugging techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide electronics support to firmware, manufacturing and customer-facing teams for HDD products.
• Collaborate with firmware teams to implement hardware features and firmware solutions.
• Partner with manufacturing to resolve electronic issues, maintaining yield and schedules.
• Work with FAE and WWFA teams to address customer issues and analyze failure trends.
• Apply problem-solving methods and use debug tools to resolve complex problems.
• Maintain and own the area’s tools and provide clear status updates.
