Analog Devices, Inc. in the Boston area is seeking an Embedded Systems Co‑Op to contribute to real programs in the Analog Garage.

You will design and prototype firmware and hardware interfaces as part of the Platforms and Systems team, collaborating with engineers across disciplines. This 4+ month co‑op offers hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced engineers, and exposure to real‑time systems, microcontrollers, FPGA work, and software/hardware integration, with a pathway toward

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in CS, CE, EE or related field.
• Available for 4+ month co-op.
• Experience in embedded programming in C or Rust.
• Experience in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Linux PREEMPT_RT) or similar.
• Bonus: DSP basics.
• Basic PCB design knowledge and ability to read schematics.
• Familiarity with Embedded Linux design patterns.
• Experience developing/troubleshooting low-level drivers with interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet).

Responsibilities

• Design and bring up firmware for real-time systems, ensuring quality and performance.
• Perform software/hardware integration work and assist in silicon or PCB bring-up and validation.
• Collaborate on requirements, architecture, and deliverables while optimizing with hardware and systems engineers.
• Test, debug, and integrate complex systems.
