Job summary

Aeva, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to design and implement real-time embedded applications on application processors and microcontrollers in C/C++.

You will work with QNX, embedded Linux, and RTOS environments, collaborating with EE, DSP, and SW QA teams to deliver safe, production-ready software for our advanced sensing platforms. Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience developing C/C++ code in embedded systems environments.
  • Familiarity with QNX, embedded Linux, FreeRTOS, Zephyr or similar RTOS.
  • Experience in driver development for embedded communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART).
  • Experience developing applications that interact with custom hardware on QNX and embedded Linux.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with teams such as EE, DSP, System Test, and SW QA.
  • Experience working on ARM, Tensilica architectures (Xtensa).
  • Strong understanding of OS and RTOS fundamentals.
  • Passion to make embedded SW applications resilient, safe, and production-grade.
  • Ability to operate in lab settings with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes for debugging.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement real-time applications on application processors and microcontrollers in C/C++.
  • Participate in software processes: requirements and design documentation, test-plan generation and execution, peer design and code reviews, process feedback and improvements.
  • Debug complicated issues as they arise during product development.
  • Work with teams like EE to support new product design process, schematic reviews, etc.

Job description

Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. What you'll do:
  • Design and implement real-time applications on application processors & microcontrollers in C/C++.

$132,400 - $179,200 a year

Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges are subject to change in the future. Depending on the position offered, equity, bonus, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, pre-tax commuter and health care/dependent care accounts, 401k plan, life and disability benefits, flexible time off, paid parental leave, and 11 paid holidays annually.
