Job summary

Kearfott Corporation in Pine Brook, NJ is seeking an Embedded Software Verification Engineer to verify and validate embedded software for guidance, navigation, and control products. You will translate software requirements into automated test cases, develop verification environments, and ensure compliance with DO-178C and aerospace standards.

You will collaborate with software, systems, hardware and QA teams in a lab setting, develop test scripts in Python/C++, explore AI-assisted verification

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (CS/CE/EE or similar).
• Experience in software development, embedded software, verification, or test automation.
• Ability to translate requirements into executable tests.
• Experience debugging and investigating test outcomes.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Ability to collaborate in a lab with multiple engineering disciplines.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain software verification tests for embedded and real-time software.
• Translate software requirements into executable test cases and procedures.
• Develop automated test scripts and frameworks to improve verification efficiency.
• Apply AI-enabled tools to enhance verification performance.
• Create and maintain software verification documentation with traceability.
• Execute verification tests and analyze results for compliance with requirements.
• Investigate failures and coordinate with developers to identify root causes.
• Develop test software using Python and C/C++ for embedded targets.
• Support testing with hardware-in-the-loop, simulators, and lab equipment.
• Maintain interfaces between test software, targets, and laboratory systems.
• Review requirements for clarity, testability, and completeness.
• Maintain bidirectional traceability across requirements, tests, and results.
• Participate in reviews of requirements, architecture, design, and code.
